Use the network dropdown in the top navigation bar to switch between Base and Keeta. Your wallet connection is maintained, but each network has separate:

# Your First Swap

Complete your first token swap on Silverback DEX.

## On Base Network

### Step-by-Step

1. **Connect your wallet** (see [Connect Your Wallet](/getting-started/connect-wallet))
2. **Navigate to Swap**
   * Click "Swap" in the navigation menu
   * Ensure "Base" is selected in the network dropdown
3. **Select your tokens**
   * **From**: Choose the token you want to sell
   * **To**: Choose the token you want to receive
4. **Enter amount**
   * Type the amount you want to swap
   * The output amount will auto-calculate
5. **Review the details**
   * **Exchange Rate**: How many output tokens per input token
   * **Price Impact**: How much your trade affects the market price
   * **Minimum Received**: Accounting for slippage
6. **Adjust slippage (optional)**
   * Click the gear icon ⚙️
   * Default is 0.5%
   * Increase for volatile tokens or large trades
7. **Approve token (first time only)**
   * If this is your first time trading this token, you'll need to approve it

### Price Impact

Price impact shows how much your trade will move the market price.

### Slippage Tolerance

The maximum price movement you'll accept between submitting and execution.

* **0.5%** — Default, good for stable pairs
* **1-3%** — Better for volatile tokens
* **5%+** — Only for very volatile or low-liquidity tokens

If price moves more than your tolerance, the transaction will fail (protecting you from bad fills).

   * 🟠 **Orange quotes** = Silverback user pools

### What Are Approvals?

ERC-20 tokens require you to "approve" a smart contract before it can spend your tokens. This is a security feature.

1. First time trading a token → Approval transaction required

* **Exact amount** — Only approve the amount you're trading (most secure)

# Managing Liquidity

Provide liquidity to earn trading fees on Silverback DEX.

## How Liquidity Works

When you provide liquidity, you:

1. Deposit a pair of tokens into a pool
2. Receive LP (Liquidity Provider) tokens representing your share
3. Earn a portion of all swap fees in that pool
4. Can withdraw your tokens + earned fees anytime

**Example:** You deposit ETH + USDC. Every time someone swaps ETH↔USDC, you earn a share of the 0.3% fee.

## Understanding LP Tokens

### What Are LP Tokens?

LP tokens are proof of your deposit. They represent:

* Your share of the pool's total liquidity
* Your claim on accumulated fees
* Your right to withdraw

### Important Facts

* **Keep them safe** — Losing LP tokens = losing your liquidity
* **They're transferable** — Can be sent to other wallets
* **Value changes** — Based on pool performance and token prices
* **Fees compound** — Automatically added to the pool (no claiming needed)

### When You Receive Fees

* **Classic/AMM Pools**: Fees automatically compound into the pool. You receive them when you withdraw.
* **Concentrated Positions**: Fees accumulate separately and can be claimed anytime.
* **Anchor Pools**: Fees compound into your pool reserves.

## Impermanent Loss

### What Is It?

Impermanent loss occurs when the price ratio of your deposited tokens changes. You may end up with less value than if you had simply held the tokens.

### Example

You deposit:

* 1 ETH ($2,000)
* 2,000 USDC
* Total: $4,000

ETH price doubles to $4,000:

* If you had just held: 1 ETH ($4,000) + 2,000 USDC = $6,000
* In the pool: \~0.71 ETH ($2,828) + 2,828 USDC = $5,656
* Impermanent loss: \~$344 (5.7%)

### Key Points

* Called "impermanent" because it reverses if prices return to original ratio
* Becomes "permanent" when you withdraw at different price ratios
* **Trading fees can offset impermanent loss** — If you earn more in fees than you lose to IL, you're still profitable

### Minimizing Impermanent Loss

* Provide liquidity to **stable pairs** (USDC/USDT) — minimal price divergence
* Choose **correlated assets** — tokens that move together

# Anchor Pools (Keeta)

Create your own liquidity pools with custom fees on Keeta Network.

## What Are Anchor Pools?

Anchor pools are user-created liquidity pools that compete in Keeta's FX anchor aggregator. Unlike standard AMM pools with fixed 0.3% fees, anchor pools let you:

* **Set custom fees** from 0.01% to 10%
* **Earn fees** when swaps route through your pool
* **Compete** with official FX anchors and other user pools

When users swap on the Anchor page, the system automatically routes to the pool offering the best rate — including yours.

## Creating an Anchor Pool

### Requirements

* Keythings wallet connected
* Both tokens you want to pair
* 3-5 KTA for transaction fees
* Enough liquidity to be competitive

### Step-by-Step

1. Navigate to **Keeta → My Anchors** page
2. Click **"Create New Anchor Pool"**
3. Fill in the details:

   | Token A   | First token in the pair        |
   | Amount A  | How much of Token A to deposit |
   | Token B   | Second token in the pair       |

   * Initial price ratio = Amount B ÷ Amount A
   * LP tokens you'll receive = √(Amount A × Amount B)
5. Click **"Create Pool"**
6. **Complete the four-step process:**

Fees are set in **basis points (bps)**. 100 bps = 1%.

* **Monitor and adjust** — Change fees based on performance

## Managing Your Pools

From the **My Anchors** page, you can manage all your pools:

### Update Fee

1. Click **"Update Fee"** on your pool card
2. Enter new fee (1-1000 bps)
3. Confirm the transaction
4. New fee takes effect immediately

> **Tip:** Monitor your 24h volume. If it drops, try lowering your fee. If volume is high and you want more per trade, try increasing slightly.

### Pause Pool

Temporarily stop accepting swaps:

* Pool remains funded
* No swaps will route to your pool
* Resume anytime

Use this when:

* You need to rebalance
* Market conditions are unfavorable
* You're adjusting strategy

### Resume Pool

Reactivate a paused pool to start earning again.

### Close Pool

Permanently close the pool:

1. Remove all liquidity first
2. Close the pool structure
3. Cannot be undone

Your pool competes for every swap. The aggregator routes to the best rate, considering:

1. **Your fee** — Lower fee = better rate for users

1. **Undercut on fees** — Be 5-10 bps lower than competitors

## What is x402?

[x402](https://www.x402.org) is a micropayment protocol built on HTTP. When you request a paid endpoint, the server responds with **HTTP 402 Payment Required** along with accepted payment options. Your client signs a payment authorization, re-sends the request, and the payment settles on-chain automatically.

You only pay if you get a response. No subscriptions, no API keys, no accounts.

1. **Request** any paid endpoint
2. **Receive** a 402 response with payment options
3. **Sign** a payment authorization (tokens don't leave your wallet yet)
4. **Re-send** the request with the signed payment attached
5. **Receive** the data — payment settles on-chain in the background

## Silverback Facilitator

Silverback operates its own **x402 payment facilitator** — the service that verifies, settles, and confirms payments on-chain. This means Silverback controls the full payment stack, with no reliance on third-party facilitators.

### What the Facilitator Does

When you send a signed payment with your API request:

1. **Verify** — The facilitator checks that your signature is valid, the token is whitelisted, and the amount covers the endpoint price
2. **Settle** — It submits the payment transaction on-chain (Base), transferring tokens from your wallet to the fee splitter
3. **Confirm** — Once the transaction is confirmed (\~2 seconds), it returns a receipt with the transaction hash

You never interact with the facilitator directly — the x402 SDK and Silverback's API server handle this automatically.

### Payment Protocols

The facilitator supports two settlement protocols:

## FAQ

**Do I need an API key?** No. x402 uses wallet-based authentication. Your payment signature is your access.

**What if the request fails after I pay?** The x402 protocol is atomic — payment only settles if the server returns a successful response.

**Can I pay from any wallet?** Yes, any wallet with supported tokens on Base. Hardware wallets, browser wallets, and programmatic wallets all work.

**How do I approve tokens for Permit2?** For non-USDC tokens, you need a one-time ERC-20 approval to the Permit2 contract. Most wallet interfaces can do this, or you can call `approve()` directly on the token contract with spender `0x000000000022D473030F116dDEE9F6B43aC78BA3`.

**Where do payments go?** Payments route through Silverback's fee splitter contract. The settlement fee (if any) goes to protocol operations, and the net amount goes to the Silverback treasury — contributing to $BACK buybacks and staker rewards.

### Amount Conversion

Amounts in the `accepts` array must be in **base units** (smallest denomination), not human-readable amounts:

Getting decimals wrong is the most common integration mistake.

### Cache Control

Always set `Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate, private` on 402 responses. Without this, CDNs may cache the payment options and serve stale prices.

### Timeout

Set `maxTimeoutSeconds: 300` (5 minutes) in each payment option. This gives clients enough time to sign and submit payment without the authorization expiring.

### x402 Version

Always set `x402Version: 2` in your 402 response. Version 2 supports both ERC-3009 (USDC) and Permit2 (all other tokens).

You don't need to implement this — the x402 SDK handles it automatically on the client side. But for reference:

1. Client receives your 402 response
2. SDK picks a token the client has sufficient balance for
3. **USDC** — SDK signs an ERC-3009 `transferWithAuthorization` (no prior approval needed)
4. **Any other token** — SDK signs a Permit2 `permitWitnessTransferFrom` (requires one-time Permit2 approval)

### Why do I need to approve tokens?

### What are LP tokens?

LP (Liquidity Provider) tokens represent your share of a liquidity pool. They:

* Prove your deposit
* Entitle you to accumulated fees

### How do I earn fees as a liquidity provider?

When traders swap through a pool, a 0.3% fee is collected. This fee is automatically added to the pool. When you withdraw, you receive your proportional share of all accumulated fees.

A temporary loss that occurs when token prices change from when you deposited. If you withdraw when prices have diverged significantly, you may have less value than if you just held the tokens.

### What fee should I set?

Check existing pools for your token pair. Common strategies:

* 10-20 bps — Aggressive volume play
* 30 bps — Standard, competitive
* 50-100 bps — Higher margin, less volume

### Can I have multiple anchor pools?

Yes! Create one pool per token pair. You cannot have two pools for the same pair from the same wallet.

### Can others provide liquidity to my pool?

Not currently. Each user creates and manages their own anchor pools independently.

## $BACK Token

### What is $BACK?

$BACK is the native token of the Silverback ecosystem, launched through Virtuals Protocol. It provides:

* Revenue sharing from DEX operations and trading
* Staking rewards
* Governance participation

### How do I earn with $BACK?

Stake $BACK to receive a share of protocol revenue. Revenue from DEX fees and AI trading profits is used to buy back $BACK, which fills the staking reward pool.

### Is there token inflation?

No. $BACK doesn't mint new tokens for rewards. Instead, real revenue funds buybacks that distribute existing tokens. This creates sustainable yield without dilution.

### Where can I buy $BACK?

$BACK launches on Virtuals Protocol. After launch, it will be tradeable on Silverback DEX and potentially other platforms.

LP tokens are like any crypto asset. Losing them means losing access to your liquidity. Always:
